UN security council has issued a ‘strong’ statement on the killing of over 300 people in Gaza strip by Israel’s assualt which Israel calls its right of self defence. In the statement, security council has called for end to violence by both parties. There is no mention of Israel or Hamas. There is no concern about the disproportionate use of force by Israel killing and wounding hundreds of people.

In response to Hamas rocket fires in to Israeli state, Israeli airplanes pounded Gaza strip killing at least 269 people and wounding over 700. Israelis were lucky not to get hurt by Hamas rockets which are fired on daily basis into israeli torritory.
Bush administration has rightly put the onus on Hamas for all the deaths and destruction as Secretary of Defence Condoleezza Rice said,

The Government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed a US$3.3 billion contract for American-made Patriot missiles which will further deepen the military ties between the US and the UAE. The agreement, signed with the US defence contractor Raytheon, includes technology, training and supply of the medium-range missile system, which is part of a multi-tiered defensive shield the UAE Armed Forces is building to protect the nation from perceived threats in the region.
