Majority of Muslims Condem Terrorism

The huge survey involving more than 50,000 Muslims in 35 nations initiated after the September 11, 2001 attacks in US suggests that overwhelming majority of Muslims condemned them and subsequent attacks, citing religious reasons.
The poll, which claims to represent the views of 90% the world’s 1.3 billion Muslims, is to be published next month as part of a book entitled Who Speaks For Islam? What A Billion Muslims Really Think.

Maulana Shaukat told reporters at a 150-year-old Darul-Uloom Deoband in Saharanpur, 435km from the Uttar Pradesh capital, about 20,000 scholars and clerics took part in the declaration. 
The declaration said: “Islam is a religion of mercy for all humanity. Islam sternly condemns all kinds of oppression, violence and terrorism.
“It has regarded oppression, mischief, rioting and murder among severest sins and crimes. Islam prohibits killing of innocent people.”
It is a welcoming sign and Muslim Sholars should also not hesitate to condem any act of terrorism whenever and wherever it take place.

Who got Paradise?

A suicide bomber killed the Pakistan Army’s Surgeon General Lt-Gen Mushtaq Baig on February 25, 2008 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Seven others including one woman also died as a result of the blast.
Pakistan interior ministry spokesman Brig (retd) Javed Iqbal Cheema said that it was yet to be established which group was involved in the bomb attack but the involvement of an “external hand” could not be ruled out.

More than 750 people have died as a result of severe cold and heavy snowfalls this winter across Afghanistan, a government official said on Saturday.
The cold spell, the worst in decades in the impoverished and mountainous central Asian country, has also killed nearly 230,000 cattle, said Noor Padshah Kohistani of the National Disaster Management Commission.

Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell, revealed on Juanuary 15, 2008 at the inquest into her death that her mother had called her a “whore” for dating Muslim men.”She called the princess a whore and she said that she was messing around with ‘effing Muslim men’ and she was disgraceful and said some very nasty things,” he told the inquest, referring to Diana’s mother Frances Shand Kydd, who died in 2004.

Bush urges Arabs to confront Iran
