Ramadhan Mubarak

It is Ramadhan time  for the year 2008 (1429). Some has started fasting from September 1st and some will start from September 2nd in North America. It is  very unfortunate that Muslims cannot unite on moonsighting to start this blessed month of Ramadhan or even other very important and blessed days like Eid on the same day.
May Allah bless all the Muslims and unite them on this very basic issue of their day to day lives.

Why Electricity Shortage in Pakistan?

The shortage in electricity production in Pakistan is worsening day by day which is causing long break downs and load shedding as called by government.  The crisis started about a year ago when all of sudden the electricity consumption increased to a point where all the electricity producing sources failed to fullfil the demand. Appearently it is a matter of supply and demand as the government officials are also claiming. But is it really the truth?
Major portion of electricity in Pakistan is through hydle power generation. Then other contribution is …

Taliban or Terrorists

In an other post  We Only Want to Make Peace! I quoted the following verse from Quran.
“When it is said to them: “Make not mischief on the earth,” they say: “Why, we only want to make peace!” Of a surety, they are the ones who make mischief, but they realise (it) not. ”
[Quran 2:10-11]
I am repeating these verses after watching recent news of bomb blasts in Peshawer and Lahore Pakistan killing about two dozen Muslims by the Muslims who call themselves Mujahideen or Taliban.  The purpose of these killings is to impose …

Israel’s War Games

There are  reports that massive Israeli exercises in the Mediterranean may be a part of preparations for a strike on Iran’s nuclear installations. Indications that this could be a purpose of the drills practiced at sea have come from the US Department of Defence. In response, Iran has warned it too can deliver a ‘strong blow’ if forceful measures are taken against it. What is most likely is that the exercise, using Israel’s advanced air power, is essentially aimed at delivering a warning to Iran. Similar warnings have been issued …

How long will the Gaza truce last?

A fragile truce between Israel and Hamas came into force in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, amid scepticism over how long the Egyptian-brokered deal would hold. It is the first formal ceasefire since Hamas’s takeover of the territory just over a year ago, which triggered a crippling Israel blockade of the Gaza Strip.
The deal calls for a halt to Hamas rocket fire on Israel and Israeli strikes on Gaza. It also requires Israel to progressively ease its blockade of the territory where most of the 1.5 million people depend on …

Largest democracy in the world – India

These days every where on media the Tibet issue is being highlighted. Most probably it is one way to put China under spot light. However, not many media channels are showing what is happening in Kashmir. The following picture is just a glimpse of what Kashmiries have to go through on daily basis. Is United Nation and other organizations hiding their heads in the sand and are silent. Why there is no such presure on India which is being put on China regarding Tibet?
