Pakistan Army’s Headquarters Attacked

10 October 2009 2 Comments

pakistan ghq attackedDisguised in army uniforms, terrorists attacked Pakistan Army’s Headquarters in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The terrorists tried to enter the Army compound in a pickup and when stopped started firing using automatic ammunition.  The exchange of firing between the army and terrorists resulted in killing of 6 army personals and four of the terrorists.

Two terrorists managed to escape but then were spotted and surrounded by law enforcement agencies.  The terrorists are holding some army personals hostage in the building.

There were earlier bomb blasts in Peshawer and Islamabad which killed dozens of people.  Though it is believed that this attack on army headquarters and recent bomb blasts are the result of the possible army operation in South Waziristan, Pakistan. It is clearly not possible without the support and planning of the forces which are working against the stability of Pakistan.  It is very unfortunate that Muslims are killing Muslims in a war which leads to death and destruction of their own resources and people.

The question here is who is benefiting from these kind of terrorists attacks? There are two major players who can benefit from the the unrest and destabilization of Pakistan. One is United States and second one is India.  Indian has recently announced the plans for moving more forces to the border with Pakistan and United States is also increasing its activities in the bordered area with Pakistan.  The activities of India and United States with the increased terrorists activities in Pakistan is indicating towards a major planning of events in near future in the area.
