qhq attackedPakistan law enforcement agencies freed 39 people who were kept hostage by terrorists in an adjacent building of Pakistan Army Headquarters, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The operation resulted in freeing of 39 hostages, killing of four terrorists and arrest of their leader Aqeel, alias Dr Usman. Unfortunately, three of the hostages also lost their lives during the operation.

The terrorists attacked the Pakistan army HQ a day earlier. Four of the terrorists were killed during the attack and rest of them escaped to a nearby building where they held people as hostage.

The owner of the house where the terrorists stayed and planned the attack has also been arrested by police and being investigated.

If Pakistanis wants to see an end to such attacks, the only way they have is to be vigilant.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on a local television station that they are the enemies of Islam and Pakistan. All their actions are against the sovereignty of Pakistan. It is good to know that at least Minister Rehman Malik has come to know this fact now.

Political and defence analyst Hasan Askari said that this shows weaknesses in the security arrangements of the state agencies and the determination and commitment of the extremist Taliban. He is most probably forgetting something here. It is not just the determination and commitment of the extremists, it is also the determination and commitment of the those who have openly claimed and have the will to break Pakistan into smaller states.
