No US aid to Pakistan without access to A. Q. Khan

Abdul Qadeer Khan, Pakistani nuclear scientist, who allegedly ‘sold’ nuclear secerets to Iran, Libya and North Korea was released from house arrest in February. US has been asking for access to A. Q Khan for investigating his alleged involvement in nuclear trading to ‘axes of evil’. 
Now US lawmakers on Thursday introduced legislation aiming to cut off military aid to Pakistan unless US officials are able to question alleged nuclear proliferator Abdul Qadeer Khan.

Religiouse Identification of America

According the American Religious Identification Survey 2008 released by Trinity College reveals that the U. S. population continues to show signs of becoming less religious, with one out of every five Americans failing to indicate a religious identity in 2008.
The main highlights of the study are:

Baptists, who constitute the largest non-Catholic Christian tradition, have increased their numbers by two million since 2001, but continue to decline as a proportion of the population.

Afghan war ‘worthless’, Ex UK commander

Major Sebastian Morley, former commander of Special Air Service troops in Afghanistan spoke for the first time after he resigned in protest in late 2008 over the use of lightly armoured Land Rovers in war zones. He said:

More than 100,000 young women were killed in fires in India in a single year, and many of those deaths were tied to domestic abuse. Young Indian women are more than three times as likely to be killed by fire as their male compatriots, according to an article published on the Web site of the British medical journal, The Lancet. Bangladesh’s Mutiny Ring Leader arrested

Intelligence and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) officers have arrested Touhidul Alam following a raid in the capital. He is the prime accused in the events at the Bangladesh Rifles headquarters last week according to RAB spokesman M. Kamruzzaman.

Pakistan and Taliban agree to enforce Islamic Laws

The Pakistan government has signed a deal with the pro taliban Maulana Sufi Mohammad to enforce Islamic laws in a northwestern region. The deal followed talks between ministers in the troubled North West Frontier Province (NWFP) and a local militant leader, Sufi Mohammad, on formalising the implementation of Islamic law. The deal will cover Pakistan’s Malakand area, one of the districts of NWFP, which includes the Swat valley, and home to around three million of the estimated 20 million people who live in the northwest province.

Is A.Q. Khan really Free Now?

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday declared nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan a free man, five years after he was effectively put under house arrest for allegedly operating a proliferation network.
