I agree with Nasim Yousaf. He has revealed many hidden facts in his works. Pakistani and Indian historians have failed to include Allama Mashriqi’s (a frontline and most powerful leader) views on united India. Time has proven noble Mashriqi was 100% correct. Unfortunately, Jinnah could not see the future of United India. Partition was no good for Muslims and Hindus. It weakened the nation.

The paper by Mr. Nasim Yousaf has ignored the realities which clearly demonstrate that there commonalities outweigh their similarities as claimed in the paper. It is true that it is not the quantity but quality that matters, however, the present day democracy is based on quantity and not quality. So how Mr. Yousaf envisage the equality of Muslims and Hindus in a united country?

I wish Jaswant singh before publishing his book had read “Hidden Facts Behind British India’s Freedom: A Scholarly Look into Allama Mashraqi and Quaid-e-Azam’s Political Conflict” by Nasim Yousaf (scholar and author). Those interested in South Asian politics should also read the Paper presented by the said scholar at the New York Conference on Asian Studies (NYCAS) at Cornell University held on October 09-10, 2009.

The partition was heartbreaking and sometimes I feel unnecessary. However its too difficult to come to a final conclusion on how I feel about the topic. Interesting post though.
