International calls to investigate Israel over alleged war crimes in the Gaza Strip prompted Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Sunday to promise military personnel state protection from foreign prosecution.
“The commanders and soldiers sent to Gaza should know they are safe from various tribunals and Israel will assist them on this front and defend them, just as they protected us with their bodies during the Gaza operation,” Olmert said.
It is well known now that Israel used white phosphorus munitions indiscrimnately in the densely populated areas of Gaza strip. White phosporus can cause extreme burns. Gaza strip is not in the jurisdiction of Internation Criminal Court as it is not state and it will require UN Security Council mandate to investigate any such charges. Any such move is expected to vetoed by Israel’s ally US. Israel’s war in Gaza has already shown marked failure of UN.
Let us see how the international community act on these war crimes by Israel’s defence forces during its 22-days long war in Gaza strip which killed over 1300 Palestinians, wounded thousands and has cuased structural damages worth billions of dolars.

Israel doesn’t need lawyers, they never do, if anyone says anything about the Israeli wrongdoings they will be called anti-Semitic or a terrorist sympathizer, and if that doesn’t work the US will give them a pass. I’m still waiting for the results of the banned munitions the Israelis used on the civilian population in Lebanon that is considered a war crime. I Believe it was the Nazis that said they where only following orders, that didn’t seem to work for them either.
anti-Semitic or a terrorist sympathizer are media managed words, which is why most mulism leaders are sitting silent on the sideline waiting for something to happened or Not. forget the muslim leaders, there are organization such as U.N, last i checked purpose of which was to regulate the world to become a better place, are they serving their purpose or is it a bargaining tool to maneuver international decisions in favor of few. what is happening in Gaza is caused for concern for all and should be stopped immediately
